Peanut Butter Chocolate Bars

I've been pinning away like crazy and my Sweets and Treats board probably has the most pins.  Surprise, surprise.  The first Pinterest recipe that I actually attempted was Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars.

Bats Optional

Here's what you'll need:
1 package yellow cake mix
1 stick of butter, melted
1 cup creamy peanut butter
2 eggs
1 (12 oz) package semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
2 Tablespoons butter
2 teaspoons vanilla

Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Combine cake mix, melted butter, peanut butter, and eggs in a large bowl using a mixer or spoon.

Peanut butter cake mixture.

Press this into a 9X13 pan reserving 1 1/2 cup of the mixture to crumble on top.

In a small pot, melt chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla.

This is always a beautiful sight.

Spread chocolate mixture over the mixture pressed in the pan and then crumble the 1 1/2 cups of reserved cake mixture on top evenly.

Bake for 20-25 minutes. Cool completely before cutting into bars.

The finished product looked like this:
Ready to cut into bars and serve!
I am so happy with how these turned out and they were a huge hit with my husband!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Joining in with others for What I'm Loving Wednesday courtesy of Jamie

This week, I'm loving:

Autumn!  I am so happy that it is November, because now I can start thinking about Thanksgiving, and then Christmas.  With any luck, it will get a little bit cooler out here in SoCal really soon so I can break out my boots and coats and scarves.

Health Insurance!  I went in for another skin biopsy yesterday.  I am so grateful for medical insurance, because without it, I would be in so much financial trouble from medical bills.

Baking!  Thanks to Pinterest I have found so many great recipes that I am actually inspired to bake.  Recipes that I've tried coming soon this week!

My Grandparents!  They have been a huge part of my support system my entire life and now that I'm married and (trying to be) an adult, I am even more grateful for everything they've done for me.

And of course, My Husband!  As always, Tim is the most amazing man and I am so happy every day that he and I made this commitment to each other.  I don't know what I would do without his love, support, and friendship.  You are amazing, babe!
