Friday's Letters

Diego
Dear Tim, Thank you for dancing almost every time I play "Call Me, Maybe".  It makes me giggle every time.  Dear Mama, Thank you for being my Mama.  You did so many amazing things for me growing up.  You were always the cool mom.  Remember the summer after my first real boyfriend and I broke up?  I was more than a little obsessed with Abercrombie and Fitch and you bought me a new thing from there every week all summer.  Remember the time I had surgery senior year of high school?  You put my towels in the drier while I was in the shower every day for a week so that when I got out,  I had a warm towel to snuggle in.  Amazing.  Dear Grandma, Thank you for being like a second mom to me.  You raised your own kids and then took on the added adventure of having me live with you and Grandpa half the week all through junior high and high school and then all the time after graduation.  From making me my favorite meals when I got home from school or work to teaching me how to clean a toilet, I enjoyed that time so much.  Who can say that they lived with their grandparents?  Pretty wonderful, if you ask me.  Dear Brooke, Your due date is TOMORROW!  How quickly did the past 9 (10?) months pass?  I know you're super uncomfortable but I think you are so gorgeous and strong.  Happy First Mother's Day Cookie.  I love you so much.  Dear Weekend, You are going to be a little hectic, which could turn into a lot hectic if Brooke goes into labor.  L.A. Vegan Beer Fest is tomorrow and Mother's Day is on Sunday!  Dear Nicole & Troi, How are all three of us going through essentially the same life issues at the exact same time?  Why don't we live closer?  Ventura to L.A. to San Jose is too far.  Let's all find a way to take a trip and figure ourselves out.  In the meantime, talking to both of you today was so wonderful and really helped.  You guys are the best.  Dear Laundry, I have put you off allll week.  I need to do you today.  Dear Neighbors, Please don't be annoying like usual when it comes to the washers and dryers.  Dear Danny, I can't believe you really wrote me what can best be described as a kinda essay about the quality of the  light saber battles throughout the Star Wars films yesterday.  You wrote 988 words about it, my friend and it is awesome.  (Yes, I copy / pasted the email into Word because I was curious.)  Dear Diego, Stop (doing the cat version of) yelling at me.  I don't know what you want.  Use your words.  Mama loves you.  Dear Babers of Schmabers, You've been working super late and long days this week.  I am so proud of you.  You are one of the hardest working people that I've ever known.  I hope you like the cookies I made you.  You really need to get some sleep this weekend.  I'm worried that the stress is going to wear you down and you're going to get sick.  Speaking of, can you please try to move your MRI appointment up?  I'm getting worried about the things in your neck.  I need you around.  You are my everything and I love you.  Forever and A Day.

The cookies are delicious. I can't even describe how much I love soft sugar cookies. Thank you so much for making them for me. This weekend is going to be beyond crazy with or without Max popping his little head out. Let's just take it one day, actually, one hour at a time and try to enjoy and savor every minute we have together. Also, thank you for all your support this week through the long work days. Hopefully they will calm down very soon *looks at count down to launch*.

You crack me up. I like that you wrote your laundry a letter. My laundry letter would say something like "Why must you taunt me? Can't you get a life of your own!"

"Who can say that they lived with their grandparents? Pretty wonderful, if you ask me."

Another way in which we are the same person. Living with my grandparents was without a doubt the time in my life when I felt the most safe and loved. We were both so lucky.

I wish the three of us were closer. Chatting with you always helps me vent and destress! Let me know about Cookie!
